What are some common challenges Full Stack Development Instructors face when supporting students with diverse technical backgrounds?

Full Stack Development Instructors often work with students who have varying levels of prior coding experience. A common challenge is balancing the pace of lessons to ensure beginners aren’t left behind while still engaging more advanced students. Instructors address this by providing differentiated instruction, offering supplemental resources, and fostering a collaborative classroom environment where peer learning is encouraged. Additionally, adapting to different learning styles and keeping up with evolving technologies are essential parts of the role.

What does a Full Stack Development Instructor do?

A Full Stack Development Instructor teaches students how to build both the front-end and back-end components of web applications. They cover topics like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, databases, and server-side programming. Instructors design lessons, provide hands-on coding exercises, and guide students through real-world projects to ensure a thorough understanding of full stack development. They also offer feedback, mentorship, and support to help students succeed in launching their tech careers.

Build the Future of Golf E-Commerce

About Golfballs.com

Golfballs.com is the World Leader in Golf Customization. We customize and ship more than 300,000 personalized golf balls every week using our proprietary visualization, personalization, and fulfillment platform. In addition to golf balls, we offer a complete selection of clubs, apparel, shoes, accessories, and equipment from the industry's leading brands.

Technology is at the heart of everything we do. Our engineering team develops the software that powers our customer experience, manufacturing processes, and internal business operations. We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, building scalable applications, and creating software that has a measurable impact across the business.

This position may be based in our Lafayette, Louisiana headquarters or performed remotely within Louisiana.

What You'll Do

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll work across the entire technology stack to develop software that supports millions of customer interactions and critical internal operations. You'll collaborate with Product, Operations, Customer Experience, and fellow Engineers to build innovative solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain modern full-stack web applications.
  • Build intuitive, responsive user interfaces using React and Next.js.
  • Develop scalable backend APIs and services using Node.js.
  • Design software solutions that are secure, performant, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute ideas that improve our technology platform.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following engineering best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation that supports long-term maintainability.
  • Participate in sprint planning, provide development estimates, and accurately track work.
  • Continuously improve development processes, coding standards, and system performance.

AI-Enabled Engineering

At Golfballs.com, we believe AI is transforming software development. We encourage engineers to responsibly leverage modern AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, accelerate development, assist with testing and documentation, and explore technical solutions.

AI is expected to enhance engineering—not replace engineering judgment. Engineers are responsible for validating AI-generated code, maintaining security and quality standards, and ensuring every solution is reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.

We value engineers who continually learn, evaluate emerging technologies, and thoughtfully incorporate AI into their daily workflow.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience developing full-stack web applications.
  • Experience building modern web applications using React and/or Next.js.
  • Experience developing backend services using Node.js.
  • Strong JavaScript skills (TypeScript experience is a plus).
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with the ability to independently identify problems, recommend solutions, and drive work to completion.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with DynamoDB, NoSQL databases, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with Docker or containerized development environments.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum teams.
  • Experience supporting or building e-commerce applications.
  • Experience with Shopify apps and ecosystems.

What Makes You Successful

Successful engineers at Golfballs.com:

  • Act like owners by taking responsibility for outcomes—not just assigned tasks.
  • Think critically and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Deliver high-quality software with attention to detail.
  • Continuously learn and embrace new technologies.
  • Use AI responsibly to improve effectiveness while maintaining engineering excellence.
  • Communicate openly and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Take initiative to improve systems, processes, and the customer experience.
  • Balance speed with quality and long-term maintainability.
