As a Platform Engineer, you must possess world-class technical skills and a strong sense of empathy for your fellow developers. You will work closely with other talented engineers, architects, and senior stakeholders to architect, implement, and deliver on our roadmap.

Let's talk about Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, support, and, where needed, optimize cloud infrastructure as code.
  • Design and develop automation scripts to build and deploy applications and systems.
  • Analyze project needs/requirements and recommend solutions to enable enterprise cloud adoption.
  • Assist in account management as part of an AWS organization strategy.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot systems and/or network standards, processes, and security.
  • Create, propose and implement software development standards with architecture and Information Security.
  • Consult during application onboarding and ensure they are configured properly.
  • Work with "full stack" teams to optimize continuous deployment methods for faster velocity.
  • Maintain system documentation (e.g., best practices, configuration...).
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain configurations and best practice recommendations.

Attend vendor training/conferences and presentations for continuing skills

development.

Let's talk about Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field - or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing code for infrastructure automation.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams is preferred.
  • Experience with incident management
  • 4+ years of experience working with AWS
  • 2+ years of experience working with infrastructure as a code product (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, with demonstrated hands-on experience in one or more of the following domains:
  • Cloud Core Platform Elements: Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Serverless
  • Continuous Deployment: GitHub actions
  • Application development & debugging experience: Python, Node.js, TypeScript, etc...
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues throughout the organization.
  • Desire to grow knowledge and skill set through on-the-job training, formal classroom training, and independent research.
  • Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment and deal with varying degrees of ambiguity.
  • Ability to set priorities for scope, risk and quality of technology solutions to meet business needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • 1+ year using specifically using Terraform
  • Associate-level certification in AWS
