Job description

THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING:
A product-driven engineering organization focused on building and scaling API-first digital platforms that power both customer-facing and internal systems across a large-scale residential real estate environment.
This team operates within a modern AWS serverless ecosystem, supporting platforms including mobile applications, customer/resident portals, website infrastructure, and internal/external service integrations. You will partner closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions.
LOCATION:
Tempe, AZ - Onsite Monday-Thursday | Remote Fridays

  • This has been a 90+ day search, highlighting the need for a unique combination of serverless AWS expertise, backend ownership, and communication skills.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Designing and developing scalable, API-driven backend services in AWS
  • Building within a serverless architecture (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3)
  • Supporting platforms across mobile, web, and enterprise integrations
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders
  • Translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Leading initiatives, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployments, and UAT coordination
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
  • 6-8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3)
  • Backend-heavy development experience (~80% backend focus)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Node.js
  • Experience with API-driven / microservices architectures
  • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Full-stack exposure (React, React Native, GraphQL, TypeScript/JavaScript)
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers
