Position Summary

A Fuel Technician has a wide variety of skills and will be able to work through difficult problems. This person installs, maintains & repairs fuel dispensers; submersible fuel pumps; service station site controllers; credit card readers; pos systems; tank monitoring equipment; various other types of equipment; various other types of equipment found in service station and convenience gas stations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work in a safe manner 
  • Install troubleshooting and service convenience store networking, including running cable, programming routers, and establishing connectivity to credit networks
  • Install, calibrate, test fuel dispenser and associated equipment
  • Install, program, and service point of sale systems for convenience stores
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and service fuel dispenser and associated equipment
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and annual certification of fuel station equipment
  • Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operations manuals
  • Observe and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform the job duties in a safe and sensible manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
  • When necessary, respond to emergency repairs and provide after-hours support needed

Education and Work Experience

  • Veeder- Root System Preferred
  • Verifone Systems Preferred
  • ICC certifications Preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: You will need to be able to perform repetitive tasks such as walking, bending, twisting and use of hands, wrists, and arms. You will need to be able to lift approximately 50-75 lbs. This position will work in varying degrees of temperature.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The incumbent frequently is required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools and controls.
  • Constant physical effort required, including standing, sitting, bending, crouching, over 8 -12-hour work shift
  • The incumbent may regularly lift and/or move heavy hoses and other equipment regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds several times per day
  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
