Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Delivers high-quality store and station support by ensuring prompt, friendly, and courteous service. Manages daily operations including merchandise stocking, fuel pump monitoring, and station cleanliness. Combines retail oversight with hands-on automotive support, performing tire and oil changes, vehicle safety inspections, and battery or brake replacements. Effectively handles routine station duties to assist the team in driving sales growth and enhancing the customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
Store Responsibilities:
• Provide quality store/restaurant support by providing service in a prompt and timely
manner
• Break down and stock incoming loads/deliveries per Store Manager or category schematic designation.
• Replenish products and supplies throughout the store as designated by Store Manager.
• Checks in new merchandise in a timely manner
• Clean interior areas, including floors and counters.
• Completes daily housekeeping cleanliness duties as designated by Store Manager.
• Follows security and safety policies/procedures
Propane and Ice Responsibilities:
• Review and validate propane and ice purchase orders and tickets prior to customer distribution.
• Manage bagging of ice and restocking of ice machines and propane tanks.
• Monitors fuel pumps and propane tanks and air/water dispensers
Auto Service:
• Perform tire replacement, mounting, balancing, and flat tire repairs for all vehicles.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections.
• Complete oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
• Inspect and service brakes, batteries, belts, hoses and general minor repairs.
• Follow shop safety procedures and quality standards.Must adhere to proper handling and disposing of chemicals and oils while completing repairs.
• Performs general shop and station duties, including equipment upkeep and workspace cleanliness.
Station Responsibilities:
• Perform routine pump station maintenance.
• Monitors fuel pumps and air/water dispensers
• Maintain exterior areas, including fuel pumps, restrooms, driveway, plant beds, and trash areas.
• Clean and properly manage oil and other hazardous spills in accordance with safety procedures.
• Refill receipt rolls in pump dispensers.
• Empty and maintain pump dispenser trash receptacles.
• Follow company safety procedures in managing gas pumps, ice, propane, and air/water dispensers
• Reports any safety issues, breakage/damaged equipment/items, and other incidents that occur with fuel pumps, propane, air/water dispensers and ice machines
• Operates the emergency shut-off in the event of a crisis or safety incident with the gas pumps
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Works indoors under regular store conditions
• Frequently going in and out of refrigerated cooler/ freezer (proper attire is needed i.e. jacket, long sleeve shirt)
• Work in confined positions and exposed to fumes and chemicals, extreme heat, and loud noises while working in the auto service area.
• Works outdoors as needed (weather conditions may hinder time to complete job duties in which proper attire may be needed)
Equipment use:
• Use of pricing gun, overhead cigarette racks, fast food equipment and cleaning supplies.
• Use of calculator, hooking up C02 soda fountain air pressure dispenser tank and BIB Bag-In-A-Box syrup dispensers
• Use of store and stocking equipment, such as hand trucks/dollies, and pallet jacks
• Use of fuel pump dispensers, propane tank cages and dispensing equipment, and gauges and other tools
• Use of ice machines, bags and bagging equipment, and air and water dispensers
• Use of spill kits, safety cones and signage, and other personal protective equipment to clean oil and other hazardous spills
• Use of tire changers and gauges, wheel balancer, hydraulic lift, impact wrench, torque wrench, oil change equipment, diagnostic scanners, battery testers, and other auto equipment/tools.
Work Hours:
• Employment status as follows:
  • Full-time Regular (35.00+hrs/week)

• Monday - Saturday availability as assigned by Store Manager
• Extended hours as assigned
MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Continuously requires attention to detail, concentration, alertness, and mathematical skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Continuous standing for extended period of time, handling, fine motor skills, manual dexterity with hands and fingers, use of eye-hand-foot coordination and corrected vision.
• Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking,
reaching; pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 25 to 100 lbs. of merchandise cartons, auto equipment, and other equipment/items.
• Seldom requires sitting, running and visiting/working at other sites.
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
• Continually talks to Managers and receives instructions
• Frequently talks to co-workers and customers.
• Occasionally meets requests of co-workers
• Occasionally talks to outside trade persons/vendors, talks on the telephone, trains/gives
instructions and reads
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Skills/Knowledge:
• Requires mathematical ability for checking in of product/merchandise
• Ability to provide prompt, friendly and quality store/restaurant support service
• Ability to perform stock/inventory duties
• Ability to perform assigned housekeeping duties
Education/Training:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully completes all assigned Training Classes
• Current Hawaii Drivers License
• Current Hawaii Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate (or eligible/willing to obtain upon hire)
• Willing and able to obtain any other required industry credentials upon or after hire.
• On the job training provided by the Manager and Assistant Manager
Experience:
• 3-5 years in compatible trade or industry.
Must be able to provide TB clearance.
