SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Fuel Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of field operations, including leading the operations team, coordinating with airlines, and collaborating with airport authorities. This role ensures the seamless implementation of operational procedures and policies to guarantee the timely, safe, and efficient delivery of aviation fuel services. The Fuel Operations Manager plays a critical role in crisis management, handling emergencies, and disruptions, in close collaboration with senior leadership. The position also focuses on the continuous analysis and improvement of operational processes to increase efficiency and maintain high standards of service. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and supervise the daily field operations of the aviation fuel services team, ensuring smooth operations across fuel delivery, refueling, quality control, and storage. Ensure operational procedures are implemented accurately and consistently 
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team, providing training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Foster a culture of safety, operational excellence, and accountability within the team 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between fuel operations and airlines, coordinating delivery schedules, fuel requirements, and responding to operational queries. Liaise with airport authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and coordination of fuel services at the airport 
  • Lead crisis management efforts in case of fuel-related emergencies or disruptions. Work with senior leadership to develop and implement contingency plans and ensure team readiness for emergency situations, such as fuel spills, fires, or operational delays 
  • Continuously assess and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high levels of service quality. Implement best practices and identify opportunities for automation or new technologies 
  • Ensure that all fuel operations meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including FAA, EPA, and NFPA guidelines. Conduct safety audits and ensure team members are trained on emergency procedures and compliance requirements 
  • Monitor daily fuel operations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Provide regular reports on fuel consumption, operational performance, safety incidents, and team productivity 
  • Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including airline representatives, airport personnel, and other relevant parties. Respond promptly to customer needs and address service concerns or issues 
  • Assist in managing the budget for fuel operations, ensuring cost-effective practices are in place without compromising safety or quality. Track fuel costs, staffing expenses, and operational efficiencies 
  • Ensure accurate documentation of fuel transactions, inventory, inspections, and safety compliance reports. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry regulations and ensure operational adherence 
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • 5 years of Leadership/Operational experience 
  • Prior fuel experience is required 
  • Project Management experience a plus 
  • Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook  
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents  
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices 
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means 
  • Pass a background check and drug screen  
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
