What is a fuel handler?

Fuel Handlers are professionals responsible for safely managing, transporting, and storing various types of fuel, such as gasoline, diesel, or aviation fuel. They ensure that fuel is transferred efficiently between storage tanks and vehicles or equipment while following strict safety and environmental regulations. Their duties may also include inspecting fuel storage facilities, monitoring fuel quality, and responding to spills or emergencies. Fuel Handlers are employed in industries like aviation, transportation, and energy, where safe fuel management is critical.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fuel handler, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fuel Handler, you need a solid understanding of fuel types, safety procedures, and equipment operation, often supported by a high school diploma and relevant safety certifications such as HAZMAT or OSHA. Familiarity with fuel transfer systems, pumps, and inventory tracking software is typically required.
