Job description

Job Summary: At Truenorth Energy, we are committed to providing exceptional service and clean, safe environments at all of our fuel and convenience store locations. As a Fuel Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping our locations operating efficiently, ensuring our customers and team members enjoy a smooth and reliable experience.
Essential Functions:
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel dispensers, submersible pumps, point of sale systems, cash register consoles, and tank & line monitoring equipment
  • Respond to service requests from store management and operations teams in a timely manner to minimize downtime
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on fuel and retail equipment to ensure reliable operation
  • Coordinate with other technicians and outside vendors to support specialized repairs and system issues
  • Ensure compliance with company standards as well as local, state, and federal codes and regulations
  • Maintain accurate service records including completed work, parts used, and time tracking for each job
  • Maintain clean and safe work environments before, during, and after repairs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and fire safety regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support field service operations

Requirements:
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with solid mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge of fuel dispensers, tank monitoring systems, and/or point of sale systems
  • Gilbarco Dispenser certification, Wayne Dispenser certification, or Veeder-Root
  • Tank Monitor certification preferred
  • Familiarity with computer operations and ability to quickly learn new systems and software
  • Experience working within CMMS systems to complete and manage work orders preferred
  • HAZMAT First Responder certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire
  • Confined Space Entry certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire

Education and Experience:
  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of general maintenance experience (preferably in a retail, commercial, or fuel station setting).

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs. regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and access rooftops or below-ground equipment areas as needed.
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and travel between locations.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to use tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Work Environment:
  • Local and regional travel between store locations across the Cleveland area is required; most days involve visiting multiple sites.
  • Frequent interaction with operational equipment, electrical systems, moving mechanical parts, and occasional exposure to fuel vapors and cleaning chemicals.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call availability to address urgent maintenance needs.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • This role may require working in tight spaces, at heights, or in areas with moderate noise levels.

Required Travel:
  • Travel to all company sites across the area
  • Possible overnight travel, less than 10%
