Job description

Under general supervision, this position ensures compliance and safety in the SCS district’s fuel operations Must place orders for PPE supplies for various locations. Responsible for picking, packing, and delivering PPE orders. Conducts daily inspections of fuel grounds and assist with compliance of area.


1. Ensures compliance and safety in the District’s fuel operations by completing the monthly spill bucket inspections and quarterly dispenser inspections for the State of Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Division of Underground Storage Tanks (Rule 0400-18-01-.04).
2. Aids in the preparation of budgets; monitors expenditures, processes invoices, payroll, reconciliations, and prepares related financial reports.
3. Performs quarterly fuel inspections for State of Tennessee Department of Environment. All inspections will be signed off by a member of Management.
4. Inspects daily reports of fuel spills and overflows, then assists with cleaning up the area in accordance with the standard operating procedure. The Assistant - Fuel Compliance will coordinate the clean-up with SCS Grounds Department.
5. Resolves shipping discrepancies and problems.
6. Conducts weekly inventory counts; verifies computation against physical stock and adjusts for errors; Investigates and reports discrepancies in inventory stock to appropriate supervisor.
7. Assists with receiving, storing, and distributing materials and equipment to District personnel.
8. Operates District vehicles to travel to District site.
9. Complies with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
10. Operates the fuel system in bypass mode collecting detailed documentation of each vehicle’s usage.
11. Stays abreast of regulatory changes and guidelines related to safety and compliance for the fuel department.
12. Monitors the metering system of all dispensers and scheduling a calibration service when needed.
13. Performs other related duties as required or directed.
