Job description

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 32 countries and territories in North America, the Greater Caribbean, and Europe. The Partnership’s midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 14,000 miles of pipeline and over 160 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership’s fuel distribution operations, which distribute over 15 billion gallons annually to approximately 11,000 Sunoco and partner‑branded retail locations, as well as independent dealers and commercial customers.

Summary

The Manager, Fuel Supply & Demand Planning will lead the team that is responsible for end-to-end supply chain planning for Sunoco LP’s Fuel Distribution segment, providing accurate, aligned, and actionable forecasts supporting the distribution of approximately 15 billion gallons of fuel annually.

This role will oversee fuel supply planning activities and collaborate cross-functionally to interpret commercial strategies and customer insights into reliable demand forecasts that will enable effective supply chain and business execution. Additionally, the team leads the analysis of customer lifting and supply data, translates insights into actionable optimization initiatives. The team will create reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making that will align cross-functional priorities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage the fuel demand forecasting process for 15B+ gallons across a complex distribution network spanning across North America
  • Analyze demand and supply chain trends across approximately 400 locations, identify drivers of forecast variance, and implement corrective actions to improve forecast accuracy and reliability
  • Provide leadership in a dynamic operational environment, enabling the team and business to drive continuous improvement - exceed performance objectives while fostering a culture of customer focus, operational excellence, and continuous innovation.
  • Strengthen fuel demand planning, analytics, and business partnerships to deliver data‑driven insights and recommendations that support strategic decision‑making
  • Utilize internal and external systems to gather data while enhancing data mining capabilities; including data cleaning, preparation, and visualization
  • Generate actional insights, while driving operational improvement by means of
    • Leveraging advanced analytics to evaluate current supply chain performance
    • Collection of information across disparate systems and identification of market trends
    • Full ownership/development of forecasting software tools/software
  • Lead team performance through coaching, mentoring, and development.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related analytical or technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and talent development skills, with the ability to attract, hire, coach, and motivate team members while driving high performance and strengthening overall team effectiveness.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking with a deep understanding of Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, Replenishment, or related analytical roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively influence stakeholders and build strong relationships
  • Strategic thinking and decision‑making capabilities, with the ability to align team objectives to business goals
  • Data‑driven mindset, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into action
  • Ability to prioritize work requirements within tight, concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to hire and develop team members and strengthen overall team performance
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Highly resilient with results driven attitude
  • 8+ years of experience in related field required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge related to commercial operations including Trading, Supply, Scheduling, Transportation, and electronic BOL movement systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of DTN TABS, Fuel Admin, Salesforce and Right Angle
Working Conditions

Normal office working conditions

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

May require occasional evening or weekend support as business conditions warrant.

Ability to support urgent operational issues outside normal business hours when necessary.
