About The Role

The Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice at FTI Consulting provides multidisciplinary, independent dispute advisory, investigative, data acquisition/analysis and forensic accounting services to the global business and legal community. Our team supports clients facing high stakes litigation, arbitration and compliance investigations, and regulatory scrutiny.

The Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice helps clients who are facing legal disputes by:

  • Providing financial analysis and expert testimony in a range of dispute situations: securities litigation, marital dissolution, antitrust claims, consumer fraud, labor and employment and other class actions, intellectual property, professional malpractice, lost profits, valuations, breach of contract, purchase price disagreements, business interruption, environmental claims, construction claims and fraud cases.

  • Employing forensic accounting and complex modeling expertise to unravel complex financial transactions.

  • Independently gathering and analyzing critical information.

  • Offering industryleading electronic evidence services that identify, preserve and collect relevant, structured information and analyze complex data within enterprise systems.

FTI seeks professionals who can apply their business, economic, accounting, and financial acumen in the analysis of financial issues in family law matters and commercial disputes. Responsibilities include preparing damages analyses, valuations, industry and economic research, analysis of income available for support, marital balance sheets, separate property tracings, and other disputes related work product. This is an excellent opportunity to become a player in the historic changes taking place in the disputes and valuation consulting profession and corporate America.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and perform day-to-day activities in support of commercial dispute and family law projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.

  • Manage client engagement through entire lifecycle including client communications, billing, and analysis and drafting of expert work product, reports, or other client deliverables.

  • Manage employees in various offices to execute and deliver all work while working closely with senior management.

  • Perform research utilizing economic, accounting, financial, statistical and data science tools, including online tools and publicly available economic and financial data sets.

  • Develops plans to efficiently and effectively execute client deliverables and address the core financial needs to a case, including assisting in preparing work product, reports, and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties.

  • Applies accounting, financial, valuation, economic, statistical and other analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements and underlying accounting records, preparation of complex financial models, and performing in-depth research and analysis.

  • Organizes information to facilitate effective data access and analysis.

  • Supervises junior team members' analyses.

  • Maintains detailed working paper records reflecting assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks.

  • Delivers high-quality product within established timeframes and budgets.

  • Prepares written analyses and other reports for third parties, as necessary, depending on project scope and/or results of activities.

  • Contributes to mentorship, training, and development of team members and disputes practice.

  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with client personnel.

What You Will NeedTo Succeed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master'sdegree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.

  • Active CPA license (must be in good standing).

  • 5+ years of relevant post-graduate professional experience.

  • Experience in California based family law forensic accounting including preparing business valuations, equity compensation apportionments, marital balance sheets, separate property tracings, and income available for support analyses, among others.

  • Experience in commercial litigation including damages analyses, shareholder disputes, and other economic, accounting, and financial analyses involved in litigation.

  • Strong analytical modeling, technical accounting, cash flow modeling and finance skills.

  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFF, ABV, CFE, CDFA, CFA, ASA, CVA, CBA or other professionaldesignation, or a desire to work towards obtaining additional relevant credentials.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience drafting written expert reports.

  • Well-developed aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Ability to work independently infast-paced, multi-tasked environment.

  • Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs.

  • Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously while managing time and budget.

  • Prior experience managing teams and the development of others.

  • Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications. Advanced skills in Excel are preferred.

  • Proficient with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks Online.

  • Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications.

Minimum Pay:$91,000
Maximum Pay:$278,000
