Job description

Overview

The Field Support Representative (FSR) is a cross-functional operations support position responsible for maintaining operational continuity across the Supply Logistics Center (SLC). The FSR is fully trained in Order Fulfillment, Receiving, Quality Assurance, Shipping, and Material Handling, allowing them to provide coverage wherever business needs dictate.

The FSR serves as a designated operational resource capable of supporting multiple departments, operating powered industrial equipment, completing inventory replenishment, and providing temporary coverage during staffing vacancies. In addition, the FSR serves as a peer leader and ambassador by assisting with the onboarding and development of new associates through effective on-the-job training, coaching, and reinforcement of standard operating procedures.

The FSR position is designed to improve operational flexibility, reduce downtime caused by staffing vacancies, ensure consistent weekend replenishment coverage, and strengthen new hire onboarding through peer mentorship.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Become fully cross-trained and maintain proficiency in Order Fulfillment, Receiving, Shipping, Quality Assurance, Inventory Control, and Material Handling functions.
  • Provide operational support across all warehouse functions based on daily business needs.
  • Assemble, pick, pack, verify, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and process inbound materials and supplies.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Serve as the designated certified forklift operator during weekend operations to ensure replenishment activities are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver materials to production and warehouse locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Safely load, unload, transport, stack, and store materials using approved material handling methods.
  • Perform inventory replenishment, cycle counts, inventory verification, and stock rotation activities.
  • Utilize RF scanners, warehouse management systems, and inventory tracking software to complete daily transactions.
  • Verify Bills of Lading, packing lists, shipping documentation, and receiving paperwork.
  • Maintain shipment logs, inventory records, and production documentation as required.
  • Assist with physical inventories and inventory reconciliation.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and daily safety checks on powered industrial equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all CBPS safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Operational Support Responsibilities

  • Provide temporary coverage for operational vacancies until replacements are hired and fully onboarded.
  • Adjust assigned work schedule as needed to align with operational coverage requirements during vacancies. Whenever possible, a minimum of two weeks' notice will be provided prior to any temporary schedule change.
  • Support multiple shifts and departments as operational demands require.
  • Serve as a flexible operational resource capable of performing the essential duties of multiple warehouse positions.
  • Maintain flexibility to support changing priorities, staffing needs, and business requirements.

Peer Leadership Responsibilities

  • Serve as a peer leader and ambassador for the warehouse team.
  • Partner with supervisors to assist in onboarding newly hired associates.
  • Reinforce standard operating procedures, quality expectations, and safe work practices through on-the-job coaching.Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive safety culture.
  • Assist in developing cross-training opportunities to improve workforce flexibility.
  • Provide guidance and support to associates learning new job functions.
Qualifications
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production experience
  • Experienced operating power tool equipment including but not limited to cherry picker, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.
  • Previous experience with material handling is required
  • Working knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and carts
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a must
  • Ability to work overtime & meet deadlines

Physical Demands

Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting or standing

May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Experience operating power tool equipment

If required to operate a forklift, must be forklift certified and be able to use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience Necessary

Minimum two years of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.Minimum one year of forklift experience preferred.Previous experience with material handling required.Experience operating powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or similar equipment.Experience performing multiple warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, or inventory control.Previous experience training or mentoring associates preferred.

Knowledge

Working knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality processes, and material handling.Knowledge of inventory replenishment procedures and inventory accuracy practices.Working knowledge of scanning equipment, warehouse management systems, internal database tracking systems, dollies, carts, and material handling equipment.Must successfully complete all CBPS Safety Training and equipment handling procedures.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills.Experience using RF scanning equipment and warehouse management systems preferred.

Basic Qualifications
