What is an FSQA manager?

FSQA Managers, or Food Safety and Quality Assurance Managers, are professionals responsible for ensuring that food products meet safety and quality standards set by regulatory agencies and company policies. They oversee quality control systems, develop and implement food safety programs, and conduct audits to ensure compliance throughout the production process. Their role is vital for protecting public health, maintaining brand reputation, and meeting legal requirements in the food industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an FSQA manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) Manager, you need expertise in food safety regulations, quality control processes, and often a degree in food science or a related field. Proficiency with HACCP, GFSI schemes, audit management software, and relevant certifications such as SQF or PCQI is typically required.
