Job description

Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.00 /hour

                                                               

SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Works with Department Manager and Precision Specialists to promote and support Precision Equipment and Agronomy Services as well as Crops and Research divisions of Wabash Valley Service Co.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Will be responsible for flying the company application drone.
  • Assists in the installation and service of Precision Equipment to maximize efficiency and ensure a positive buying experience for our customer/owners.
  • Utilize precision testing equipment to calibrate seed meters to optimize performance. Maintain inventory and a clean workspace in the meter room. Record parts used and time spent to provide accurate billing. 
  • Participate in the collection of precision soil samples by operating and maintaining a utv and hydraulic soil probe as well as operate the appropriate iPad and computer software as part of Wabash Valley's data management solution.
  • Utilize iPad based logistic, drone, and scouting platforms to communicate observations to Precision Specialists, Crop Specialists, and/or Product Managers.
  • Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

        Education and Experience

  • Normally requires a High School diploma or equivalent; and prefer college degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business related discipline or at least 2 years of experience to demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of this job.
  • Must have or obtain and maintain a valid Class B CDL driver's license with Hazmat Endorsements.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a commercial drone pilot license, arial application license, and pass the FAA physical required for drone application.
  • Must have or obtain and maintain a valid Class B CDL driver's license with Hazmat Endorsements.

  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Proven professional communication, persuasion, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate math skills and the ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, etc.
  • Ability to use a computer and the appropriate programs to complete business processes.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
