Job description

Summary of Position
The Campus Pastor is the chief culture and vision carrier for the campus and serves as the primary pastoral and leadership presence of Gateway Church at the local level. This role is responsible for the overall health, growth, and stewardship of the campus, ensuring alignment with Gateway's purpose, values, and vision.

Principal Job Responsibilities
  • Champion Gateway's purpose, values, vision, policies, and procedures
  • Assess key campus needs, formulate strategies, and execute effectively within the framework and vision of Gateway Church
  • Develop and sustain a leadership pipeline, including the identification, recruitment, training, and development of leaders
  • Foster Serve Team health through recruitment, training, retention, appreciation, and culture-building
  • Lead Campus Staff, including development, performance reviews, disciplinary processes, potential recruitment, selection, and overall team health and synergy
  • Cultivate healthy connection, alignment, and one-team culture between Campus and Central Teams
  • Oversee and participate in campus services and activities, including platform ministry
  • Create, steward, and protect a healthy and thriving campus culture
  • Participate in one-on-one and team meetings with managers, peers, direct reports, and staff
  • Teach classes and lead trainings as needed
  • Manage and oversee the campus budget and expenses in partnership with central systems
  • Steward the pace and sustainability of ministry at the campus
  • Lead the campus hiring process for open positions to ensure campuses are staffed with qualified, high-capacity leaders
  • Consistently hold team members accountable in their areas of responsibility
  • Oversee staff accountability related to ministry assimilation and established workflows
  • Facilitate inputs for ministry health and growth
  • Perform the sacerdotal functions (weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.) of a licensed minister of the Gospel

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally kneel or crouch
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
