An Overnight Associate (or Night Crew Clerk) at Giant Food ensures the store is clean, safe, and fully stocked for the next day by unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and stocking shelves during overnight hours. This role requires high attention to detail, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a focus on merchandising standards. 
Key Responsibilities
Stocking and Facing: Unload deliveries, move products from the backroom to the sales floor, and rotate stock (ensuring freshness) on shelves and displays.
Backroom Organization: Maintain a clean, organized backroom to support efficient replenishment.
Store Maintenance: Keep aisles clean, safe, and free of debris during and after stocking operations.
Merchandising: Build displays and maintain accurate product placement and pricing.
Customer Interaction: While acting as a behind-the-scenes role, they may assist customers, particularly if stocking early in the morning. 
Job Requirements
Physical Ability: Able to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule: Generally involves overnight shifts (often 9:30 PM - 5:30AM or similar) and requires weekend availability.
Experience: 1-3 years of retail, grocery, or food service experience is preferred but not always required.

  • Customer Service: Assists customers in finding products, answers questions, and provides friendly service.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Adheres to food safety protocols, maintains cleanliness in the freezer department, and properly disposes of damaged goods.
  • Equipment Operation: Uses pallet jacks, carts, or u-boats to move merchandise.
  • Pricing: Maintains accurate pricing by ensuring items are properly labeled, signed, and tagged.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme cold temperatures for extended periods.
  • Detail-Oriented: Monitors product quality, freshness dates, and inventory levels.
