Work EnvironmentPublic service settings, emergency response, community outreachHospitals, clinics, care homes
Employer & Industry UsageGovernment agencies, emergency services, NGOsHealthcare facilities, private clinics
Common Search & ComparisonOften compared for frontline emergency or public service rolesCompared for patient care and support roles

Frontline roles generally involve emergency response, public service, or community outreach, requiring specific certifications and working in diverse environments. Healthcare Assistants focus on patient support within healthcare facilities, often with specialized healthcare certifications. Both roles are essential in their sectors but differ mainly in scope, environment, and required credentials.

What is a frontline worker?

Frontline workers are employees whose jobs require them to be physically present at their workplace and interact directly with customers, clients, or the public. They are often the first point of contact in industries such as healthcare, retail, transportation, education, and public safety. Examples include nurses, teachers, retail associates, delivery drivers, and police officers. Their roles are essential for maintaining daily operations and providing critical services, especially during emergencies or crises.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a frontline worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a frontline worker, you need strong customer service skills, problem-solving ability, and often a high school diploma or relevant vocational training. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management tools, and basic workplace safety protocols is typically required. Outstanding communication, resilience, and teamwork make someone excel in this role. These skills are important because they ensure effective service delivery, a positive customer experience, and smooth daily operations in high-pressure environments.

What are common challenges faced by frontline workers, and how can they be managed on the job?

Frontline workers often encounter high-pressure situations, such as managing demanding customer interactions or quickly adapting to changing priorities. Staying calm under stress, maintaining clear communication, and practicing effective time management are essential for success. Many organizations provide training and support resources to help frontline staff navigate these challenges, and teamwork is often emphasized to ensure a supportive work environment. Building strong relationships with colleagues and supervisors can also provide valuable guidance and encouragement.

Success in this role will be measured by product adoption, user engagement, employee satisfaction, operational impact, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions that make it easier for our security officers to succeed every day.

What You'll Do

Own Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for MyConnect, ensuring alignment with business priorities, employee needs, and Securitas' broader digital transformation objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.

Drive Customer-Centered Product Development

  • Develop a deep understanding of security officers and frontline operational workflows through customer research, field engagement, analytics, and experimentation to identify opportunities that improve the employee experience.
  • Lead product discovery and decision-making using customer insights and data to deliver intuitive, high-impact solutions that drive adoption and engagement.

Lead Product Execution & Innovation

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, and other business partners to deliver products from concept through launch, define success metrics, and continuously optimize performance.
  • Champion modern product management practices while leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve digital experiences, operational efficiency, and business results.

Who You Are

An ideal candidate brings:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using customer research, analytics, and experimentation to inform product decisions.
  • Experience partnering closely with software engineering and UX teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse teams.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools in everyday work and incorporating AI or other emerging technologies into product strategies.

Experience That Sets You Apart

  • Experience building and scaling mobile applications.
  • UX experience, training, or a strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Experience working within startup, consulting, and medium-to-large enterprise environments.
  • Global product management experience.
  • Experience supporting workforce management, field service, operations, logistics, or frontline workforce technology platforms.
  • Experience leading AI-enabled products or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience scaling enterprise software platforms serving large, distributed user populations.
