Job Summary:
Axon is on a mission to Protect Life, focusing on critical safety and justice issues through their ecosystem of devices and cloud software. They are seeking a Senior Front End Software Engineer to lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices while ensuring high availability and performance in their products.
Responsibilities:
• Lead engineering architecture design reviews, incorporating AI-driven insights and system modelling
• Set a high technical bar through code and architecture reviews, including evaluation of AI-generated code and patterns
• Mentor engineers on scalable system design and AI-first development practices
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows across the engineering organization
• Work across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions
• Improve engineering processes by embedding automation, AI tooling, and intelligent workflows into planning and execution
• Build services that adhere to high standards of availability and latency in a mission-critical environment
• Leverage AI systems to optimize performance, observability, and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience developing large-scale, consumer-facing web applications.
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks (Angular, React).
• Strong experience with building and bundling tools like Webpack.
• Strong experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Jest, Karma).
• Strong experience in optimizing web application performance, including code splitting, lazy loading, and reducing Time to Interactive (TTI).
• Experience evaluating and integrating AI-assisted development tools into engineering workflows
• Strong understanding of how AI can be applied to improve developer productivity, system design, and operational efficiency
