Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile Software Programmer/Developer to join our growing MIS team who enjoys working with people just as much as solving problems. This role is ideal for someone who is collaborative, approachable, curious, self-motivated and genuinely passionate about making a positive impact. In this role, you will act as a core programmer/developer, contributing to a wide variety of software projects. You will develop, test, and maintain internal business applications, client-facing web portals, and database integrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Application Development: Write clean, scale-able, and efficient code across multiple internal software systems.
  • Java Architecture: Design and maintain back-end services, APIs, and micro-services using Java and modern frameworks.
  • Full-Stack Maintenance: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing legacy applications and front-end interfaces.
  • Database Management: Write complex SQL queries and manage data pipelines linking to relational databases.
  • Maintain and Develop: Work alongside product managers, system administrators, and design teams to translate business requirements into functional code or Optix Document Management & Workflow Automation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for access to secure contracts and systems).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional software development.
  • Java Expertise: Proven proficiency with Java (Version 8 or higher preferred).
  • Web Tech: Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern frontend framework.
  • Databases: Practical experience with relational database management systems (e.g., PL/SQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server).
  • Location: Must reside within commuting distance of Akron, OH location for mandatory on-site days.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent bootcamp experience).
  • Optix: Familiarity with Optix Document Management & Workflow Automation.
  • Oracle Tools: Proven proficiency with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Oracle APEX.
