Position Description
The Front-End Developer at Applied Medical is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, user-facing web applications that support critical business operations across the organization. This position plays a significant role in creating responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces that deliver exceptional experiences to internal and external stakeholders. The Front-End Developer works closely with UX/UI Designers, back-end engineers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance professionals to translate requirements into functional, visually polished applications. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain resilient, high-performance web applications and reusable UI components using modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-tested front-end code while participating in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and consistency.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor to improve development efficiency while maintaining coding standards.
  • Collaborate with UX and UI designers to implement responsive, accessible designs and provide technical feedback on feasibility and best practices.
  • Integrate front-end applications with back-end APIs and services, collaborating with back-end engineers on data contracts and integration strategies.
  • Optimize application performance, identify front-end bottlenecks, and implement enhancements to improve usability and load times.
  • Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, across browsers and devices.
  • Participate in sprint planning, architectural discussions, and technical refinement sessions within cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Support and evolve the front-end design system and component library to promote reusability and consistent user experiences.

Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalivalent professional experience.
  • Two to ten years of professional experience in front-end development or full-stack software development.
  • Hands-on experience building modern web applications using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git in collaborative, team-based environments.
  • Experience working with modern front-end frameworks, with React experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with React or other modern frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git in collaborative, team-based environments.
  • Knowledge of responsive web design, CSS preprocessors such as SASS or SCSS, and layout techniques including Flexbox and CSS Grid.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or React Testing Library.
  • Familiarity with build tools and bundlers including Webpack or Vite, and package managers such as npm or yarn.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization techniques, browser developer tools, and debugging workflows.
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility principles and WCAG 2.1 standards.
