Job description

Holiday Inn Express Suites Sheldon, Iowa is seeking a professional and highly
motivated individual for a Front Desk position. We are seeking someone
dependable, with great customer service skills who enjoys interacting with people.
Shifts required are 3pm-11pm Approximately 1-3 days per week, and every other
weekend. More hours if available to cross train We are very flexible with
scheduling. Every other weekend is required as well as some holidays. Holidays are
on a rotating basis.
Front Desk Agent Primary Responsibilities:
 Greet and welcome guests upon arrival in accordance with hotel standards.
 Respond in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and
in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services.
 Check identification and ensure that credentials provided are accurate and
valid.
 Register guests into the computer system, verifying reservation, contact
details, and credit information.
 Assign rooms to guests and make room keys.
 Make and confirm reservations, including creating walk-in reservations.
 Answer phone and guest questions, particularly pertaining to hotel services,
guest registration, travel directions; and/or making recommendations
regarding shopping, dining, entertainment or local attractions.
 Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel
information and guest concerns.
 Generate bills, collect payments, and make change for guests, while
maintaining a house bank and making deposits; accurately reporting of
receipts daily.
 Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for
cleaning.
 Record guest comments or complaints, referring guests to manager as
necessary.
 Assist with other duties as assigned such as general cleaning.
 Finishing any laundry for each day. There will almost ALWAYS be laundry.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Bilingual a plus!
Must possess basic computer skills and basic computational ability.
