Job description

As a Subsea SWAT Engineer, you will support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of subsea well control equipment, primarily the Blowout Preventer (BOP) stack and related systems. Whilst onboard the drilling rig, you will work under the guidance of the core crew subsea personnel to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations, while providing hands-on experience in high-pressure, high-stakes environments. This role is "hands on" and will serve the Noble global fleet on 28/28 rotation, not fixed to one single drilling rig.
Essential Functions
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of subsea BOP systems and control pods
  • Monitor and maintain hydraulic and multiplex control systems
  • Maintain Surface WCE such as Choke and Kill Systems, Motion Compensation Systems and Riser Systems
  • Support routine and non-routine inspections of subsea equipment, including risers, LMRP, and wellhead components
  • Participate in pressure testing, function testing, and troubleshooting of subsea systems
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment status, maintenance logs, and test results
  • Assist with ROV operations related to subsea equipment deployment and retrieval
  • Ensure compliance with Noble safety protocols, regulatory standards (e.g., API, ABS), and company procedures
  • Collaborate with drilling, marine, and rig maintenance teams to coordinate subsea activities
  • Participate in pre-job planning, risk assessments, and safety meetings
  • Participate in end of hitch After Action Reviews to drive continuous improvements

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working offshore with Subsea Well Control Systems
  • Familiarity with HMH & NOV Well Control Systems is a strong advantage
  • Proficiency in IFS ERP System is a strong advantage
  • Strong reporting and recording skills are desired

Technical Skills:
  • Understanding of subsea well control systems maintenance and pressure testing procedures
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
  • Technical Troubleshooting of Subsea Systems is a necessity

Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Effective communication and teamwork in multicultural environments
  • Willingness to work offshore in rotational shifts and challenging conditions
  • Strong attention to procedural discipline

Qualifications:
  • Time served with appropriate certification in a Mechanical discipline or
  • Graduation from a Subsea Trainee program
  • Years of experience working with Well Control Equipment will be considered

Career Path:
  • The role is a launchpad to becoming a core crew Subsea Engineer, Subsea Crew Chief or Subsea Superintendent.
