Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. Our work focuses primarily on commercial and industrial projects, so candidates should have proven experience in these sectors. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of estimating experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with computer-based estimating and project management software. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a local background check are required. We offer full benefits, life insurance programs, and opportunities for growth within the company. References must be provided during onboarding.
Applicants must be highly proficient in reading blueprints, interpreting symbols, and understanding drawing notes and revisions. They should also be able to read specification sheets and BOM sheets and have a solid understanding of value-added lighting and switchgear packages. Applicants must be able to compose and draft proposals, including but not limited to cost codes, labor codes, material codes, and related items and be proficient in writing up Job Scopes.
Responsibilities 
  • Fully understand the project scope and requirements by studying documentation, meeting with clients, and visiting relevant locations
  • Collect necessary documentation such as plans, drawings, and project specifications
  • Determine the key variables for cost and conduct research to determine expected labor and materials costs
  • Gather bids and negotiate with service providers to secure the best possible prices
  • Create and submit estimates to project managers
  • Budget and forecast using appropriate software
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is preferred
  • Previous experience as an Estimator is preferred
  • Ability to forecast building costs and knowledge of estimation formulas
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Skilled in relevant software
  • Excellent research, writing, and negotiation skills
