Job description

Central Care Cancer Center at the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center provides comprehensive medical oncology, hematology, and radiation oncology services to patients across an eight-county region in southwest Missouri.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established oncology team in a relationship-centered, highly collaborative environment.

If you’ve ever considered oncology — or are looking for meaningful clinical work with predictable hours — this opportunity offers both.

Why This Role Stands Out

Meaningful patient relationships
Oncology allows you to care for patients and families during some of the most important moments of their lives. This is medicine built on trust, communication, and continuity.

Predictable schedule
• No evenings
• No weekends
• No holidays
• Structured clinic hours

You can practice complex medicine without sacrificing balance.

Established, respected oncology group
Join a strong, experienced team with a reputation for high-quality care and a supportive culture.

Collaborative practice model
Work closely with Medical Oncologists in a team-based setting where your clinical judgment is valued.

Comprehensive benefits package
Includes PTO, CME allowance, health coverage, retirement options, and more. Benefits begin the first of the month following hire.

Position Overview

As an Advanced Practice Provider in Oncology, you will:

  • Establish and maintain meaningful rapport with patients and families

  • Perform evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning

  • Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and side effect management

  • Collaborate directly with Medical Oncologists on chemotherapy regimens and care plans

  • Review labs, imaging, and diagnostic results to ensure safe, high-quality care

  • Coordinate follow-up care and ongoing management

  • Serve as a consistent clinical presence for patients throughout their treatment journey

This role blends autonomy with structured physician collaboration — ideal for someone who values teamwork and clinical depth.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree required

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant

Experience

  • Oncology experience preferred but not required

  • New graduates are welcome to apply

We are open to training the right candidate who brings strong clinical fundamentals and a desire to work in oncology.
