Your Responsibilities
  • Performing thorough patient evaluations, recommending diagnostic tests, and devising personalized care strategies
  • Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions, either collaboratively with physicians or independently, depending on your credentials
  • Guiding patients and families in understanding prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management
  • Prescribing medications and therapies within your certification limits

Essential Educational Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Necessary Certifications
  • Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alabama
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a relevant specialty
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications upon hiring or within 90 days of employment
