Location: Eastern Shore, MD (Salisbury, Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Centreville, Glen Burnie, and surrounding areas)

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicer to support large-scale AWS data center and backbone fiber network projects. This role plays a critical part in network expansion, maintenance, and backbone cleanup initiatives across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

This is a high-visibility position supporting critical infrastructure with strong long-term growth potential.

• Perform OSP/ISP fiber splicing across aerial and underground networks
• Execute single fiber and ribbon splicing (including rollable ribbon)
• Work with high-count fiber cables (24-strand up to 432/864 count)
• Conduct fiber testing and troubleshooting using EXFO/OTDR equipment
• Maintain strict splice quality and loss standards (target dB loss ~0.1–0.2)
• Perform mass fusion splicing (Sumitomo, Fujikura equipment)
• Install and terminate connectors:
  • SC/UPC
  • High-density LC panels
• Tune, calibrate, and maintain splicing equipment
• Manage and maintain company-issued splice rig van and tools
• Handle occasional equipment upkeep and “housekeeping”/office tasks

• 3+ years of fiber optic splicing experience, including high-density/ribbon splicing
• Strong experience with:
  • Fusion and ribbon splicing (24–864 count fiber)
  • OTDR testing and troubleshooting (EXFO preferred)
• Proven ability to meet strict performance and loss standards
• Experience working in field environments independently
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism
• Valid, clean driver’s license (company vehicle provided)

• Experience supporting AWS or data center builds
• Experience in OSP and ISP environments
• Familiarity with high fiber count networks (432/864)
• Experience with Vetro mapping or GIS tools
• Exposure to aerial fiber work (no bucket truck required)

• Field-based role with travel throughout the Eastern Shore region

• Company splice van and gas card provided

• Must have a clean/valid driver’s license (take-home company splice rig)
• Candidates should be comfortable traveling across the region as needed
• Occasional office days for equipment maintenance and preparation

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salisbury, MD.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
