Pediatric Orthopedic Research Fellowship

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time pediatric orthopedic sports surgeon to join its nationally recognized Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Orthopedic Surgery.

This faculty position offers significant opportunity to build a pediatric sports medicine surgical practice within a high-volume academic program. The successful candidate will participate in clinical care, resident and fellow education and clinical or translational research.

Clinical responsibilities

The pediatric orthopedic sports surgeon will:

  • Evaluate and treat pediatric and adolescent patients with sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Develop and grow a pediatric sports medicine practice
  • Work closely with pediatric orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists, rehabilitation providers and other clinical partners
  • Participate fully in the clinical and academic activities of the pediatric orthopedic division
  • Provide care at Washington University Orthopedics and St. Louis Children’s Hospital clinical locations
  • Support the continued growth and development of pediatric orthopedic services

The Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Orthopedic Surgery has a national and international reputation for excellence. Its specialists work as a multidisciplinary team to diagnose and treat conditions ranging from common injuries to complex musculoskeletal disorders and deformities.

Education and teaching responsibilities

The faculty member will actively participate in orthopedic resident and fellow education, including:

  • Clinical instruction and supervision
  • Teaching in the operating room and outpatient setting
  • Participation in conferences, journal clubs and other educational activities
  • Mentorship of residents, fellows and medical students
Research responsibilities
