Job description


Basic Purpose
  • Performs design work for electricand/or gas new construction, capital maintenance or system improvements -which includes but not limited to project initiation, preparation of newimprovement designs, cost estimates and contracts.
  • Establishes project specificbusiness relationships and facilitates the customer through the company'sNew Business Process.
  • Focuses on the identification ofcustomer needs and expectations for new business utility design forelectric and/or gas projects by maintaining a working knowledge of companystandards, tariffs and regulations.
  • Works under the general directionof a higher-level Administrators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs design work for electricand/or gas new or expanded service or system improvements.
  • Maintains a working knowledge ofall company standards, tariffs and regulatory requirements to provide themost cost-effective designs.
  • Creates and delivers preliminaryestimates.
  • Identifies needs and expectationsof the customer for electric and/or gas utility requirements of projectspecific development.
  • Serves as the central point ofcontact for internal and external customers such as developers,contractors, engineering firms, local agencies and utilities from theinception to the completion of the assigned projects.
  • Focus on improvement of externalcustomer satisfaction.
  • Prepares and presents financialagreement to the customer ensuring that the company delivers acomprehensive and accurate contract.
  • Conducts pre-constructionmeetings with Electric and Gas Inspectors, General Foreman and Area

Service Managers as necessary.
  • May participate in the after hourrotational on call supervisor program and assist in restoration activitiesduring storms or other emergencies.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma and 1 year ofrelated work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge ofElectric and/or gas design, operating and construction practice. Allapplicable federal, state and local rules and regulations governingelectric/gas sub transmission
  • and distribution construction.
  • Analytical, planning, timemanagement, decision making, interpersonal, project management andcommunication.
  • PCs, word processing, spreadsheetand database software.
