Job description

The Gautier Lab in the Department of Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral fellows. Our research focuses on understanding how genome organization facilitates and coordinates DNA repair alongside DNA replication and transcription, to prevent pathological rearrangements and cancer development. We invite applications from researchers with a strong interest in genome integrity and cancer biology. Highly motivated Fellows will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge studies in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Postdoctoral Fellows will improve their skills in study design, data analysis and manuscript writing. They will design experiments using established protocols. These will be in the areas of cell biology, genomics, proteomics or a combination of these. They will optimize experimental design through literature searches. They will learn how to analyze the data with the appropriate tools to analyze imaging, sequencing or protein datasets and implement statistical analysis. They will also improve their skills in presentation through weekly lab meetings and local (department seminar, scientific groups) and national (scientific conferences) meetings. Finally, they will prepare the experimental data for publication.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The Postdoctoral Fellows will improve their skills in study design, data analysis and manuscript writing.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Candidates should have:
• PhD (or equivalent) in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, computational biology or a related field
• Evidence of strong scientific productivity, demonstrated by high-quality research published in peer reviewed journals
• Be collaborative, curious and willing to explore novel scientific hypotheses
• Knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas:
o DNA Repair
o Genome organization
o Live-cell imaging
o Proteomics
o Genomics data analyses
o Xenopus cell-free extracts

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
