Job description

Individually and together, our employees are dedicated to satisfying the mission of our organization which is an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve, regardless of a patient's ability to pay for health care.The Information Technologist Logistics Coordinator is a lead member of IT's Network Engineering Staff and responsible for all aspects of inventory management and coordination of IT equipment deployment services for St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network. He/She will function as primary inventory agent on project service teams and SLHN facility planning groups accountable for equipment purchasing, license administration, inventory control and maintenance. Other related tasks include assisting SLHN teams with budgetary development as it relates to projects and strategic planning, product research, pricing negotiations and deployment strategies. The Logistics Coordinator will act in a team leader role and be expected to coordinate vendors and internal service teams involved in roll outs and department moves, adds and changes.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates IT resources and equipment logistics, provides purchase and inventory management, license compliance and regulated disposal of hardware/software systems (i.e.HIPPA).

  • Participates at all levels of change control management acting as IT liaison, providing budgetary consultation for SLHHN strategic planning, facility engineering groups and project teams.

  • Identifies user requirements, investigates/negotiates equipment pricing under approved IT system guidelines and industry standards.

  • Oversees equipment purchasing and logistics as it pertains to budgetary funding, delivery and deployment strategies.

  • Updates Track It Inventory system associated standards documentation, as it applies to IT hardware/software, operating systems and associated applications.

  • Coordinates PC installations, equipment roll outs and upgrades with PC/LAN Support Team.

  • Periodically required to rotate on off-hour hospital support team, functioning as an integral part of the Information Technology Department.

  • Maintains knowledge of technology by attending training, seminars and by reading related periodicals.

PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor or Associates degree in data processing, computer science or electronic technology or other related field.


TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Five years experience with PC/LAN Support and related services. Previous computer operations experience desirable.
