About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 1 Year of Oncology Experience Required License: BLS, WI/Compact License Certifications: BLS Must-Have:

  • Experience working in oncology.
  • Ability to triage patient phone calls.
  • Skill in entering physician orders, including labs and diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in following up on treatment plans and coordinating diagnostics for patients.
  • Knowledge in patient education, specifically regarding chemotherapy.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including infusion and radiation teams.

  • Competence in tracking INR patients with labs and medications.
  • Familiarity with following iron infusion patients.

Description: This role involves working in a fast-paced medical hematology and oncology clinic. The clinic nurse is responsible for triaging patient phone calls. They will answer My Chart messages and enter physician orders. This includes processing labs, diagnostics, and following up on treatment plans. The nurse will coordinate genetic testing and arrange diagnostics for patients. Patient education regarding chemotherapy is a key responsibility. The nurse will work closely with infusion and radiation teams to coordinate patient care. They will directly support physicians and advanced practice providers. Tracking INR patients with labs and medications will be part of their duties. The nurse will also be involved in following iron infusion patients. Oncology experience is essential for this position.
