This position is primarily onsite, as you will be providing direct care to patients in their own homes. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling patient appointments, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining organized medical charts to streamline patient flow.
  • Warmly welcome patients into their homes, collecting thorough medical histories and ensuring their comfort and understanding before examinations or treatments.
  • Assist physicians during home visits, including supporting routine exams, procedures, and patient care, demonstrating an understanding of medical equipment usage and best practices for maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Gather and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring they are correctly labeled and documented, in strict adherence to protocols.
  • Administer medications, including injections, under the direction of physicians, with a focus on patient safety and accurate dosing.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests such as blood glucose monitoring and vital sign assessments, accurately recording and interpreting results to inform care decisions.
  • Educate patients on medication usage, healthcare procedures, and general wellness guidelines, employing clear communication to foster understanding and autonomy.
  • Perform routine patient care tasks, including measuring vital signs and documenting vital patient information with precision.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces in patients' homes, ensuring that all medical supplies are adequately stocked and sanitized.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care, actively engaging in communication and treatment planning.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Medical Assistant will primarily assist patients receiving home care for various medical conditions, ranging from chronic illnesses to rehabilitation needs. You will have the opportunity to work closely with diverse populations, enhancing their health outcomes through personalized care and support.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a healthcare-related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and fundamental pharmacology reflects a deep understanding of healthcare practices.
