WHAT YOU WILL DO (JOB SUMMARY)
The Housekeeping Inspector has varied responsibilities, including inspecting rooms and public areas, maintaining and refining our housekeeping standards, supporting our housekeeping staff, providing feedback and ideas to the housekeeping team, assisting with guest requests, and hands-on support of daily housekeeping. The Inspector also provides training to new and existing Housekeeping Staff. The Housekeeping Inspector has one other distinct and important role as well: completing regular Quality Assurance inspections in cabins - actively maintaining guest accommodations to furnishings standards & identifying maintenance and other issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean guest rooms, public lobbies, restrooms, and other guest areas as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas, and other equipment
  • Handle guest complaints concerning housekeeping service or refers problem to managers
  • Inspect all rooms after they have been cleaned to ensure that all lodge policies and standards have met and a room is guest ready
  • Assists housekeepers with daily housekeeping as needed to meet the 4pm check-in deadline including stripping rooms, making beds, porting for the housekeepers, etc.
  • Stay on top of trash and dirty linen and get it to the appropriate place
  • Comply with housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Assist with other lodge needs as the need arises from time to time
  • Communicate professionally at all times with all staff and management
  • Support team members and interns while fostering a positive work environment
  • Work safely, address/report safety issues, and use proper personal protective equipment
  • Comply with work shift schedules and break requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including additional lodge support as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED; college degree a plus
  • Minimum one-year prior work experience in Housekeeping; hotel/hospitality preferred
  • Experience successfully living/working in rural/remote environment preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • The physical environment requires employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, and to adhere to departmental uniform standards
  • Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
  • Ability to stand and move continuously
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and moving carts weighing 300 pounds
  • Working with required chemicals and PPE
  • Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours and help covering additional shifts when needed
