Job description

Come join DXP|HSE Integrated' s High Angle Rescue Technicians! We're building a strong, reliable group of Technicians to support projects as they arise throughout the spring and beyond. Opportunities will arise throughout the spring and the rest of the year, and individuals will be contacted as projects become available.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Facilitate rescue in the event of an incident involving personnel who are working at height, high angle or in confined spaces.
  • Inspect, inventory, and document (on HSE rescue equipment inspections logs) high angle rescue equipment (according to manufacturer's instructions) to ensure all equipment is ready to use. This inspection is to be conducted prior to leaving the station, upon arrival at location, daily (start of each shift) and once the equipment is returned to the station.
  • Set up and test communications and alarm systems.
  • Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test. Must have the ability to set up and dismantle both breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work as a team member during rescue situations and critical tasks. This includes the ability to problem solve and utilize interpersonal skills while maintaining a level of professionalism at all times.
  • Experience setting up air trailers and portable gas detection systems
  • Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level

Required Certifications & Training
    • H2S Alive
    • Standard 1st- Aid / CPR
    • Valid unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated.
    • High angle rescue course Level I & II
    • Fall Protection
    • Basic firefighting
    • Firewatch
    • Confined Space Entry and Monitoring
    • Fire Extinguisher Level I & II
    • Experience setting up air trailers and portable gas detection systems
    • Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
      • Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs
      • Working in small / confined spaces
      • Lifting up to 50lbs
      • Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
      • Sitting / driving
      • Bending / kneeling / crouching
      • Standing / walking for long periods of time
      • Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind / snow)
