Company Description

Alaska Earth Sciences (AES) is an Anchorage-based geologic consulting firm that supports mineral exploration and responsible resource development throughout North America. AES offers a comprehensive range of services, including project management, geologic staffing, remote site management and logistics, land acquisition, and permitting. AES has been instrumental in the discovery of major mineral deposits in Alaska and has a proven track record of guiding exploration projects from conception to completion.


Role Description

This is a full-time seasonal position, work sites will vary around the state with short stints in Anchorage, AK. Core Logging Geologists at AES will be responsible for gathering and evaluating geologic data from drill core, performing fieldwork, and providing support for mineral exploration projects. The role involves geologic mapping, data interpretation, and assistance with drilling operations. A commitment to safety and precision is essential.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in geological and geotechnical core logging, geological mapping, and conducting fieldwork
  • Familiarity with drilling practices and processes in geological operations
  • Strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills
  • Follow core logging & sampling QA/QC procedures
  • Provide drill hole summarizes and geologic reports
  • Ability to thrive in remote and challenging environments
  • Completed or working towards degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field is required
  • Experience in mineral exploration is an asset, Alaska experience preferred
  • Comfortable travelling in and working around rotary-wing and small fixed-wing aircraft
