Job description

A Field Service Engineer contributes to the success of Hartwig by keeping our customers' CNC machine tools running at peak operating levels by performing repairs. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on our team to repair, inspect and troubleshoot their equipment.
Main responsibilities of this full-time role based in Kansas City, MO include:
  • Conducts high quality, efficient and timely repair and installation of CNC machines
  • Uses software and electrical tools to find damaged work parts and identifies permanent solutions to repair CNC machines and accessories
  • Recommend modifications and improvements to CNC machines, equipment and processes
  • Trains and instructs customers on service, repair and proper installation
  • Traveling to customer sites, usually within 3 hours from home, with occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to complete necessary tasks in our service software and timecard system on a daily basis

Qualifying Skills:
Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:
  • 4 years of demonstrated mechanical and electrical experience
  • Experience repairing CNC machines (Preferred)
  • Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC Machines (Preferred)
  • Ability to work independently, a go getter that finds the next customer that needs our help
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurability
  • Dependable time management
