Job description

We're not looking for someone to push a green button.

At Focused On Machining, we build complex, tight-tolerance components for aerospace and defense customers — the kind of work that demands real programmers who can own a part from print to first article. If you can look at a challenging workpiece, figure out how to hold it, write the program, and make it right the first time, we want to talk.

We run a small, focused team where skilled people have real ownership of their work. No micromanagement. No busywork. Just good machining.

What You'll Own

  • Full programming and setup on multi-axis CNC equipment — 4th axis experience required, 5-axis a plus
  • Developing and proving out programs from scratch on complex aerospace components
  • Holding tight tolerances on Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless, and exotic alloys
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T callouts, and engineering specs
  • First-article, in-process, and final inspection using high-precision metrology equipment
  • Contributing to continuous improvement — if you see a better way, say so

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience with demonstrated programming ownership — not just editing
  • 4th axis programming experience required — simultaneous 5-axis a significant plus
  • Mastercam proficiency required — you should be able to build a toolpath from scratch
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience machining Titanium or other exotic alloys is a plus
  • You take pride in your work and hold yourself to a high standard

Why Work at FOM

  • 4-day work week, 10-hour shifts — real work-life balance, not just a talking point
  • Flexible scheduling — life happens; we work with you when it does
  • Competitive pay: $30–$42/hr depending on experience — we pay for real skill
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Modern equipment and the kind of parts that keep you engaged
  • Small team, direct communication, and no bureaucratic nonsense
  • Optional overtime when you want extra hours

Requirements

  • CNC machining experience: 5 years minimum (Required)
  • Multi-axis programming — 4th axis minimum: 3 years (Required)
  • Mastercam programming: 3 years (Required)
  • Simultaneous 5-axis programming (Preferred)
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience (Preferred)

In-person role in Louviers, CO. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate prior to start.

Company Description

At FOM we have a 4 day work week, 10 hours per day. We offer flexible schedules, need to take a Tuesday off, no problem, make it up on Friday. Have an appointment in the morning no worries, just stay a little late to make up. If you like overtime and extra pay, we have that too. FOM of course has competitive Health insurance packages that includes dental and vision. We also have a 401K program with a company match.
