Job Title: Machine Operator - Mesa, Arizona

Objective

You will be responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of various CNC and automated fabrication machines. You will ensure parts are produced efficiently, safely, and to quality standards while supporting production schedules and continuous improvement efforts.


Operating CNC & Automated Equipment

  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment including CNC laser/punch machines, robotic bend cells, cobot welding systems, CNC routers, CNC mills, and automated injection molding machines.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
  • Start, stop, and monitor production cycles to ensure proper machine operation.
  • Perform basic program selection and approved machine adjustments (offsets, tool changes).
  • Identify machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or outoftolerance conditions and report them promptly.

Quality Control

  • Inspect parts during and after production using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection.
  • Verify parts meet print requirements, tolerances, and cosmetic standards.
  • Adjust machine settings within approved limits to maintain quality.
  • Segregate and report nonconforming material per quality procedures.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with manufacturing leads, production control, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Communicate production status, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide feedback on tooling, fixturing, programs, and processes.

Learning and Development

  • Crosstrain on multiple machines and fabrication processes.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new equipment, automation, and robotic systems.
  • Participate in training related to CNC operation, robotics, safety, and manufacturing best practices.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Perform routine operatorlevel maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting machine issues and coordinate with maintenance or management as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with 5S principles.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all Dynalectric safety policies and equipmentspecific procedures.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout and materialhandling requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support production needs through flexibility and crosstraining.

  • Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
  • Basic understanding of CNC or automated manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions.
  • Experience in an active manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and production tracking.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety practices and shop procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.

A Fabrication Machine Operator may be required to stand for extended periods and occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


This is a shopbased position. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Overtime, including evenings or weekends, may be required to meet production deadlines. Some travel may be required for training or continuing education.
