In this role, you will
  • Oversee day-to-day machine shop activity on second shift
  • Run and support Makino machining centers and MMC pallet pool systems
  • Serve as the on-floor technical lead for CNC operators
  • Train and mentor new operators
  • Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, and production issues
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and the tool room
  • Track tooling inventory; handle replacement, repair, and maintenance
  • Perform quality checks and confirm production output
  • Move materials and document activity in SAP
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency projects
  • Back up the Machine Shop Supervisor as needed
Must-haves
  • 5+ years of experience in a machine shop
  • CNC machining environment experience
  • Background training or mentoring operators
  • Strong blueprint/print reading
  • Cross-functional work with engineering, maintenance, and tooling teams
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving
