Job description

Job Summary:
This position acts as a field representative for our company during construction and service of multi-dwelling unit properties. The role will participate in field operations for their assigned projects including, but not limited to, installation of preconfigured network devices, installation of structured cabling (copper amp; fiber), and installation of low voltage systems (access control, camera surveillance, guest entry, IoT/smart home, audio amp; video).
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist project resources (internal amp; subcontractors) to successful project scope completion.
  • Installation, verification amp; quality control of networking and low voltage scopes of work.
  • Schedule project resources to meet construction schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining material levels on job sites by keeping Install Manager informed.
  • Assist in maintaining project budgets by keeping Install Manager informed.
  • Communicate scope changes and risks to occupancy dates to internal and external resources, as required.
  • Installation of structured cabling, including but not limited to cat5e/cat6 data cabling, Fiber optic cabling and other low voltage system cabling (audio, video, access control, etc.)
  • Termination and testing of structured cabling.
  • Installation of network devices, and low voltage system devices (network switches, wireless access points, cameras, access control readers)
  • Basic configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems.
  • Maintain and enforce a safe working environment.
  • Willingness to work in all types of conditions and climates.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. College preferred.
  • 3+ year’s knowledge and experience with networking, cabling, and one or more low voltage systems preferred.
  • Construction field and networking experience preferred.
  • Awareness of basic networking and Wi-Fi technology is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Low Voltage/data Industry standards for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements:
  • Up to 50% - 60% travel to out of state job sites.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
