Responsibilities often include system administration, application development, troubleshooting, and support for AS400 environments, all performed from a home office instead of an onsite location. This role requires secure remote access to company systems, strong knowledge of AS400 technologies, and effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote AS400 (IBM iSeries) professional?

To thrive as a Remote AS400 Professional, you need a strong background in IBM iSeries (AS400) operations, RPG/COBOL programming, and system administration, usually supported by relevant IT degrees or certifications. What are some unique challenges of working remotely as an AS400 (IBM i) professional, and how can they be managed?
