Job description

Amazon Advertising is building a world-class advertising business, delivering self-service performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales of merchandise. We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE III) to join the Conversational Ad Experiences (CAX) team within Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB). SPB helps merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners grow incremental sales through native product advertising on Amazon.

The CAX team focuses on sponsored conversational shopping experiences powered by large language models (LLMs), working on multiple "industry-first" projects that are ambiguous and challenging-but offer the opportunity to have a significant impact on both our shoppers and business. We are a highly motivated, collaborative, and fun-loving group with an entrepreneurial spirit, a bias for action, and a broad mandate to experiment and innovate.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive major product and engineering initiatives for conversational ad experiences across Amazon Store and Alexa+ surfaces
- Design, build, and operate large-scale, low-latency distributed systems serving hundreds of millions of Amazon shoppers worldwide
- Develop ad serving infrastructure and data processing pipelines to support LLM-powered conversational shopping experiences
- Collaborate with product and science teams to build end-to-end solutions for sponsored conversational experiences
- Own key pieces of customer-facing functionality, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance at Amazon scale
- Contribute to "industry-first" projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment that is growing at an unprecedented rate
About the team

We are at the forefront of re-inventing advertising experiences, bridging human creativity with artificial intelligence to transform every aspect of the advertising lifecycle from ad creation and optimization to performance analysis and customer insights

We are a passionate group of innovators dedicated to developing responsible and intelligent AI technologies that balance the needs of advertisers, enhance the shopping experience, and strengthen the marketplace. If you're energized by solving complex challenges and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI, join us in shaping the future of advertising.

Amazon.com, Inc., commonly known as Amazon, is an American multinational technology company. It was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 and initially started as an online marketplace for books. Since then, Amazon has expanded its operations and become one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world. Amazon's primary business is its online retail platform, where customers can purchase a vast array of products, including electronics, clothing, books, home goods, and much more. The company offers a convenient and user-friendly shopping experience, with features such as fast shipping, customer reviews, and personalized recommendations. In addition to its e-commerce platform, Amazon has diversified its business into various other areas. One of its notable ventures is Amazon Web Services (AWS), a comprehensive cloud computing platform that provides services such as storage, compute power, and database management to individuals and businesses. Amazon has also developed its own consumer electronics, including the popular Amazon Kindle e-reader, Fire tablets, Fire TV streaming devices, and the Alexa-powered Echo smart speakers. The Alexa voice assistant, integrated into these devices, allows users to interact with their devices using voice commands, perform tasks, and access information. Furthermore, Amazon has expanded into media and entertainment. It operates Prime Video, a streaming service that offers a wide range of movies, TV shows, and original content. Amazon Music provides a platform for streaming and purchasing digital music, while Audible offers audiobooks and other audio content. The company's commitment to customer satisfaction and convenience is demonstrated by its membership program, Amazon Prime.
