Job description

Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and verify, before applying, that you meet the minimum requirements of the position.

Position Summary. Serves as the principal capability-development SME for Aviation navigation systems and airspace management, supporting requirements, concepts, experimentation, and DOTMLPF-P integration.

Principal Duties.

  • Analyze capability gaps and operational requirements involving aircraft navigation, positioning, timing, airspace integration, and airspace management.

  • Develop and revise requirements documentation, CONOPS, capability assessments, and DOTMLPF-P recommendations.

  • Assess navigation and airspace-management systems for operations in contested, degraded, or operationally complex environments.

  • Coordinate with Aviation operational units, capability and materiel developers, air traffic services, other Centers of Excellence, Joint partners, and industry.

  • Support studies, experimentation, technical demonstrations, working groups, and senior-leader decision forums.

  • Prepare analytical products, briefings, information papers, meeting minutes, trip reports, and executive summaries.

Position-Specific Qualifications.

  • Former field-grade officer or senior warrant officer; an approved senior NCO may be considered under the PWS provision.

  • At least five years of Aviation operations experience.

  • CGSC/ILE graduate unless an approved exception applies.

  • Aircraft navigation, air traffic control, airspace management, Aviation mission planning, or related operational experience strongly preferred.

  • Combat-development and technical requirements-writing experience required.
