Founded in 1966, Friendship offers diverse senior living accommodations, award-winning care, new and innovative services, as well as specialized rehab and therapy, to over 1,500 residents and patients each day. With four campuses, the earliest dating back to 1919, Friendship has grown to offer the full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, home care, outpatient therapy, inpatient rehab, long-term care and Alzheimer's and memory care. Friendship is looking for Full-Time Dietary Aides to join our Friendship Health and Rehab North team, located in Roanoke, VA The Dietary Aide is responsible for providing food service to residents, guests and employees under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.
Shifts Available:
  • Full-Time: 8.5 hour shifts; 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Includes every other weekend

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Correctly and safely uses kitchen equipment and utensils for food preparation, service and cleaning
  • Abide by facility policies and procedures as well as laws and regulations related to food safety and sanitation
  • Prepares meal trays for residents according to diet list for each resident; ensures that meals are complete and processed per individual requirements and requests per diet orders (i.e. puree diets)
  • Ensures that meals are delivered promptly on-time per schedule
  • Keeps kitchen clean and sanitized on a daily basis - prior to breaks and leaving for the day. Labels all food products for proper storage according to regulations

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service experience preferred
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
