Job description

  • Work with Engineering and Operations staff to maintain, expand and develop Facilities Mechanical & Process Piping systems for all site activities for utility services to the site Fab and Lab areas.
  • Provide conceptual and detailed mechanical and process system designs for the variety of Facilities systems and Manufacturing tool installation projects on site.
  • Act as Facilities Engineering system owner for mechanical and process systems. Systems such as the Process Cooling Water Systems, compressed air systems, CHW and HHW system, Chillers and Cooling Tower (Condenser water).
  • Provide calculations as need for energy and utility savings or costs related to projects being considered or implemented..
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines, project managers and contractors to design and execute projects safely, on time and in budget.
  • Interface with site contractors and vendors to ensure 100% uptime to our customers.
  • See the big picture and the details that bring a system together as unit.
  • Evaluate facilities through studies for replacements or additions/expansions based on adequacy, capacity, convenience, reliability and safety of operations. Recommend appropriate actions which are cost effective and capable of future expansion.
  • Inspect specific construction and/or maintenance work to ensure adherence to design plans.
  • Direct designers and drafters and support inter-discipline coordination in preparation of project documents.
  • Prepare and present information to upper management as required.
  • Support system start-up, system optimization, and shut down functions. Analyze and determine root cause of factory outages due to system failures.
  • Effectively be able to communicate Scope of Work for construction to contractors via the use of Plans, Sections, Isometrics, Specifications and details.
  • Be available to provide direction for restoration to operation in the event of system failures, breakdowns, or other emergency situations.

Education & Experience:
  • Graduate of an Accredited BS or MS Engineering Degree (Chem, Mech or Systems)
  • Minimum of 10 years of applicable industrial and semiconductor manufacturing related system design experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona.
  • Clear communicator able to collaborate effectively with manufacturing teams and leadership.
  • Proven root-cause problem solver focused on systemic improvement and execution.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and effective at prioritizing work based on customer needs.
