Job description

JOIN OUR TEAM!

We are looking for a Medical Assistant to assist with clinical procedures, facilitate flow of patients through the office and communicate internally as appropriate to coordinate services. The Medical Assistant position is great for those who want to make a difference in the mental health field! This position will also be trained as a back-up TMS Technician. Monday - Friday position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Retrieve information from the medication line and forward this information to the Nurses
  • Document patient history, record vital signs and allergies as needed
  • Review medical records for required documentation, including updating release of information authorization forms
  • Submit authorizations for drug refills to the pharmacy as directed and complete drug prior authorization forms as needed
  • Prepare samples and document in record; contact patient as directed
  • Document patient treatment history, record vital signs and allergies/contraindications as needed, and enter data in EHR and TMS software as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • High School diploma required.
    Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Must carry a valid driver's license and have current automobile insurance in accordance with Vera French policy.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, and alcohol screening
Work Experience:
  • Previous mental health and medication management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and electronic medication and medical records data entry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of medical records documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of routine oral and injectable medications, baseline vital signs, and procedures to alert providers when vital signs are outside normal range.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain a courteous and respectful approach toward patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
  • Ability to work safely and willingness to comply with special safety and health precautions including universal precautions.
