  • Follow infection control and safety protocols, including universal precautions.

Who You Are
  • A Medical Assistant with a steady hand at vitals, screenings, and front-office workflow.
  • Comfortable in an electronic health record and quick to pick up new clinic systems.
  • A clear communicator who puts patients at ease and works well with providers, nurses, and front-desk staff.
  • Motivated by the chance to serve U.S. Navy service members and their families.

What You’ll Need
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (CAAHEP, ABHES, or a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program).
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 3 years.
Certifications
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (in-person, not web-based).
  • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from a physician or supervisor who has personally observed your clinical work).
Other Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship (or eligibility to work on a federal military installation).
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a base access ID.
  • Up-to-date immunizations (Varicella, MMR, Tdap, Hepatitis B, annual flu) and TB screening.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, general data entry).
  • Comfortable wearing required PPE (gloves, mask, eye protection, fitted respirator).

📅 Steady, weekday schedule with all federal holidays off.
👥 Team-based care in the Medical Home Port model with providers, nurses, and support staff working side-by-side.
📚 Built-in training in MHS Genesis and clinic systems — stay current and grow your skills.
