Job Description:

An RV Technician is responsible for providing the highest quality repair services to Southport Truck Group’s customers and maintaining exceptional customer service. Servicing the dedicated brand of Freightliner Custom Chassis motorhomes.

Essential Duties

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair general RVs
  • Document all repairs and pertinent information to the work performed and track job time on dealer management system(s) via a repair order
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed
  • Tag and document all warranty and core items appropriately
  • Assist other Technicians in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks if needed
  • Maintain and enhance mechanical knowledge and stay current on required OE training
  • Occasional periods of lifting and carrying supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, and quality management
  • Recognize and reporting all accidents and hazardous conditions
  • Promote workplace safety procedures
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working on RVs
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment utilized in RV repairs
  • Possess work-related hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)
  • A neat and organized approach to work & reporting
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walking
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to test drive repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
