Job description

Eggs Unlimited is one of the world’s largest suppliers of eggs, servicing the biggest retail and food manufacturing companies around the globe. Every day, we find homes for millions of eggs by tapping into our vast supply chain and customer networks. Bringing sellers and buyers together in fair market negotiations, we open up a world of possibilities for expanding their knowledge, reach, and access. With dedicated service teams and a mission to uphold transparency and trustworthiness, we create quick and creative solutions to help manage the ever-evolving demands of the global egg industry.
Job Summary:
Eggs Unlimited is a fast-growing, family-owned company headquartered in Irvine, California. As one of the largest egg companies in the U.S., we bring decades of experience across farming, procurement, logistics, and distribution. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-driven Freight Coordinator to join our fast-paced logistics team. This role plays a critical part in keeping freight moving, customers informed, shipments on schedule, and operational issues resolved quickly. The logistics environment at Eggs Unlimited moves extremely fast - often feeling like it is operating at "200 miles per hour" - with high volume, constant communication, shifting priorities, and time-sensitive customer, supplier, and carrier needs happening throughout the day. The more flexible, adaptable, responsive, and composed someone is in this environment, the more successful they will be. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized problem-solver, quick learner, and reliable executor who can manage competing priorities without losing accuracy or urgency. This person must be comfortable coordinating shipments, communicating with carriers and vendors, negotiating rates, tracking freight, maintaining accurate documentation, and jumping in quickly when delays or issues arise. This is a hands-on role for someone who has a strong work ethic, takes ownership, follows through, and knows how to stay calm and effective when timing, service levels, and customer commitments matter.
This position is 100% based in our Irvine, CA office and may require occasional overtime and/or weekend support based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and coordinate shipments, ensuring efficient routing, timely delivery, accurate system updates, and strong follow-through from pickup through delivery.
  • Communicate directly with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to confirm availability, coordinate shipment details, provide updates, and resolve logistics-related concerns.
  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers when needed while balancing cost, service, timing, and reliability.
  • Track active shipments and proactively identify delays, missed appointments, carrier issues, documentation gaps, or communication breakdowns.
  • Provide timely shipment updates to customers and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency, alignment, and confidence in execution.
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, shipment records, carrier confirmations, and other logistics-related documentation.
  • Use logistics systems, tracking tools, Excel, Outlook, and other platforms to monitor shipments, update records, generate reports, and support freight visibility.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, sales, accounting, warehouse partners, vendors, and carriers to ensure shipments align with customer needs and company goals.
  • Address shipment delays and day-to-day logistics issues quickly, escalating major problems when necessary while staying engaged until resolution.
  • Help resolve logistics challenges such as miscommunications, missed deadlines, carrier no-shows, routing issues, documentation discrepancies, or customer delivery concerns.
  • Support freight coordination across full truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, or other transportation modes as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, documentation standards, transportation requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve freight coordination, reduce errors, increase visibility, strengthen carrier performance, and improve overall logistics execution.
  • Assist with special projects related to logistics optimization, customer onboarding, reporting, process improvements, system updates, or operational efficiency.
  • Operate with urgency, accuracy, and accountability in a very high-volume, fast-moving environment where priorities can shift quickly and responsiveness, flexibility, adaptability, and follow-through are essential.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation planning, freight coordination, carrier operations, load planning, supply chain operations, or a related field.
  • Experience scheduling, tracking & coordinating freight shipments in a very high-volume, fast-moving environment (e.g., managing 100+ loads per week) where priorities can shift quickly and responsiveness, flexibility, adaptability, and follow-through are essential.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams.
  • Multiple years of experience negotiating with carriers or vendors strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, priorities, and follow-ups at the same time.
  • High attention to detail, especially with shipment documentation, invoices, bills of lading, system updates, and customer/carrier communication.

  • Experience with logistics software, TMS, WMS, ERP systems, SAP, Epicor, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations, shipping documentation, safety standards, and logistics best practices preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly, solve problems, and stay composed when shipments do not go according to plan.
  • High flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to pivot quickly as shipment needs, customer requests, carrier availability, and internal priorities change throughout the day.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to review shipment data, identify issues, create reports, and support continuous improvement.
  • Strong work ethic, ownership mindset, and willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site in Irvine, CA and provide occasional overtime or weekend support as business needs require.
