Job description

Our Wilmington, DE site, AMSCO Wear Products, is seeking a Logistic Specialist.
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, receiving inbound freight, maintaining shipping documentation, and ensuring materials move efficiently through the warehouse and supply chain. This role works closely with carriers, customs brokers, vendors, warehouse personnel, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with import/export regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

  • Monday – Friday (plus overtime as needed)

  • Schedule freight pickups and deliveries with carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers.
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation including:
    • Bills of lading (BOL)
    • Commercial invoices

  • Coordinate material movement within the warehouse and ensure proper storage locations.
  • Maintain organized shipping and receiving records.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain import/export documentation and shipment records.
  • Assist with audits and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Ensure hazardous material shipping requirements are followed when applicable.
Communication & Coordination
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and priorities.
  • Work closely with purchasing, production, inventory control, and customer service teams.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to logistics efficiency and warehouse operations.

  • Experience using ERP, WMS, or shipping software systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of freight carriers, LTL/FTL shipping, and import/export procedures preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.

Work Environment
This position operates in both office and warehouse settings and may require interaction with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and international shipping partners. Occasional overtime may be required to meet shipping schedules and business demands.
